The participant recordings show the most important data layers we combine in our methodology per participant. It contains a screen recording of the website visit, eye tracking data, measured emotions and neurofeedback. Below we'll explain these layers in more detail.
Emotions
The measured emotions during the test are the most important and valuable data layer. The graph below shows the levels of frustration (pink), attention (yellow) and joy (green) during the participants website visit. Significant increases in these emotions are indicated with dots. These dots will give you valuable insights into the subconscious experience of the participants. Of course you will need some context. What was the participant doing when he got frustrated? Where was he looking? That's why we have more data layers.
Screen recording & eye tracking
The screen recording shows how a participant is navigating and clicking through your website. This will give context to the emotional data. You can see what pages the participant visited, where the participant was clicking and, as indicated by the red dots in the screen capture, you can see exactly where the participant was looking at!
Neurofeedback
On the right of the video you will see the neurofeedback. In the emotion graph (above) we mentioned we marked the significant increases in emotions with a dot in the graph. These moments are important, because something happened that induced frustration, joy, or attention for this participant. After the test, we show the screen capture of their own website visit to the participant and go through these significant points. We ask the participant to go back to that moment (we'll show him the video), and explain what happened for him that might cause this emotion increase. This will help you explaining the 'why' of the emotional experience of your flow.
